May The Force Be With You....

Introducing the game of the year, StarWars: The Old Republic (a.k.a SWTOR). The most anticipated game for all StarWars fans and MMO's fans alike.

Well it's one of the first StarWars game created in a MMO roleplaing environment.  The best part is that it combine the ability to fight on land as well as take the battle to space. Now how many MMO have you seen could do that with such incredible graphics? It's a game one should not miss. If you did, you are missing out a lot.

So drop those W.O.W-ing for a while and pick this up for a change. you will be greeted with familiar W.O.W style game play with graphic that would put others MMOs to shame. An addition to this intense gameplay is the choice of choosing your path in the game. The story of each classes is not a fixed one but have a wide range of possibility depending on the choices you make along the way. Would you turn bad and backstab the Republic for personal gain? or would you become an angel and turn against the Empire's teaching? Is for you to decide. (Scroll down for system requirements).

Choosing your side...

Entering the world of SWTOR starts with you being able to choose which sides of the force you would want be in with the classic Empire or Republic sides to choose from. After which you will be led into the next part which is to choose the classes you are interested to be in.

For the Republic side, one have 4 classes to choose from,

Jedi Knight

1) The Jedi Knight, Leaders of the troopers and warriors of the republic. They are the tankers for the republic unleashing devastating attacks on foes with the aid of the force. These are the guys keeping the Republic safe.

Force Consular

2) The Force Consular, Master of  the force and warriors of the saber, but unlike the Jedi Knight, they focus mostly on the use of the force to heal, attack and buff players around them. The support of the Republic. But they are not as weak as you thought. They deal damage that will make even a wookiee shed it's fur

Smuggler

3)The Smuggler, Just like Han Solo in Star Wars, the smuggler's main weapon of choice is the blaster/s. They have the ability to escape from the sneakiest situation & attack with stealth and surprise.  During space battle, they could fly under rader undetected. But Smugglers are crooks, why would they aid the republic which are enforcers or justice?  Well, according to the story, the smugglers believe that fighting along side the republic is at the same time fighting for freedom against the empire.

Troopers

4) The Trooper , Equiped with heavy armor and range of weapons, the troopers are the republic's special forces, armed with different range of heavy weapons, the troopers charges into all battle situations, unleashing tremendous firepower against foes. With such powers, the only obstacle which stands in their way and the enemy's is their gun.

For the Empire's side, one too have 4 classes to choose from,

1) Sith Warrior, Warriors, Champions, the one in the front fight for the Empire. The Sith Warrior, with their gruesome and dark armor, foes will tremble in fear as they lay eyes on them. Equip with signature red sabers of the empire, these warriors will not let any foes off easily, with each swing of the saber and by taping into the power of the dark force, chaos sure to follow when this warriors are in town.
2) Sith Inquisitor, Masters of the dark art. If manipulating the force into a killing energy is hard or almost impossible, the Sith inquisitor made it looked too easy. These warriors bends the force to their liking. drawing life forces away from their enemy well healing themselves and buffing their teammates. and if at a sticky situation, there skills with the saber is not to be taken lightly either. with quick agility and lethal attacks, you will be in much pain dealing with these guys.
3) Bounty Hunter, Known as the mercenary for hire and part of a Legendary ancient brotherhood. Equipped with armor with etpacks which still allows flexibility and versatility and weapons of mass destruction, they are the troopers of the Empire. A valuable source. Run and pray they are not looking for you when you saw them flying pass, as you will never know your head might be on their list.
4) Imperial Agent, Well in times like this, a quiet way of attack might actually cripple the enemy. hence comes in the Imperial Agent, they are the spy and assassins of the Empire. Equiped with intelligence and gadget, they are like futuristic ninjas or super spies. relying on range weapons and surprise attacks with hidden blades, the Imperial Agent will be in and out even before you could say "Noooooooo".

Teenage Big Day Out 2011 @illuma

Hey Readers,

Today's our first episode on our "WHERE THE GEEKS ARE!!"

Brief introduction, "WHERE THE GEEKS ARE!!!" is basically our event coverage of Events that's happening in Singapore, which is based on Movies, Cosplay, Electronics and many others that gives the term "Geek" it's name.

Well lets Kick off with today's Event Coverage: "Teenage Big Day Out 2011" @ Illuma. For those who did not know, Teenage is a magazine in Singapore which caters to teenagers here. It includes many pop culture content which many youths here are into. Well every year, Teenage will organize an event known as "Teenage Big Day Out" to promote it's magazine at the same time exposing Singaporean to the on-going pop culture craze in Singapore.

This year "Teenage Big Day Out" gives 40 readers and eager participant  something new. They have gotten experienced Cosplayers, "Pinky Lu Xun" from Indonesia, Elizabeth Seah from Haru House in Singapore and Reno Tan, the man behind "Movie Mania" to share their experiences as a cosplayer and advice on the do and don't while cosplaying.

That is not all, Teenage also organizes a K-Pop dance Competition and also a Cosplay Competition  on the same day, drawing many crowds through out the whole event. It's a day filled with fun and excitement. Don't Forget Cosplayer with amazing outfits walking all over the area and a time where cosplayer parade their costume down a red carpet followed by a group picture. We got a few picture of them below.

ALIENS IN THE OLD WILD WEST....(6.8 - 7 ★)

Been sometimes since I updated this website. Well I am back for another great reviews for you.


We will kick start with this awesome review on the Movie "Cowboys and Aliens". The title actually tells you all you need to know about this movie. For those who can't tell, it's a movie about a lone cowboy, defending the planet Earth from the invasion of Alien who's here to mine for Gold, a resource which is rare in their planet.

Well most of you will be going like "awww man not another one of those lame Sci-Fi shit?"  I will assure you guys, this show is definitely not one of those budget cheap Sci-Fi films.. and YOU will be blown off your seats by the action involved. other then action there's  bit of realistic in this film the Director ensure that. The alien's technology is not very advance bringing realistic to another level due to the fact that is happening in 1872, Example,  the flying ships still have black exhaust fumes when it fly hence we can infer that it still runs on gas also their flying object involves jet-propelled system to fly like those of a jet plane, when Mankind have not discover technology, the alien's technology is still primitive.

The Movie started out in 1873 with Jake Lonergan played by Daniel Craig himself, found looking like trash, wounded and struck with Amnesia with a weird looking bracelet stuck on to his wrist, in the mids of the desert in Arizona and encountering 3 highway bandits which tried to kill him for "gold". Well as we all know good guys don't die just when the movie just lift off for 10 minutes.
After a few fantastic swings and kicks and of course blowing a hole in one of the bandit's chest, Jake had a change of clothes and rode towards the nearest town called "Absolution".

Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde

This town was funded by the rich investor Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) which holds an iron-fist which made everyone afraid of standing up to him. In this town, Jack found out that he's a wanted man for stealing, murder and assault, the one of the many feared bandit in the wild west hence getting himself locked up.  This is where it gets interesting. When Jack was about to be sent of to be judged, the Aliens with their flying machines stormed the town abducting people. At the same time, Jack's alien looking bracelet lights up with a series of beeping sounds and blast open the convoy he was locked in. Shocked with the mighty power stuck to his wrist, he points it at an incoming flying machine and BOOM! with a flare of blue light, causing the machine to crash land into the sandy ground.

After which Jack and Colonel  Dolarhyde rode out with a few men from the town in search of their loved ones that had been abducted. Little did they know that they are up against beast that stand 3 to 4 times taller and stronger than them.

In the end, with the help of another alien called Ella disguised as a pretty human, played by Olivia Wilde, they had lost a lot of men, but in return they managed to chase the aliens out of Earth and destroying the alien ones and for all.

Well if you are not into Sci-Fi shit, For the girls,  Daniel Craig who acted in 007 Casino Royale, will be appearing half naked in one of those scene where he's being patched up. For the dudes out there, another bonus for you to look forward to, pretty Olivia Wilde will be appearing naked out of the fire~ with those racks.

With all these massive action, I don't think anyone would want to missed it.

For this Movie, I will rank it at around 6.8 - 7 ★ star~

He's.. a lean mean fighting machine!!! It's... CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!

Welcome to another review by Geekalogy. 

This time, we are going red and blue... as Captain America hits our shores.

This famous hit movie directed by Joe Johnston is based on one of the oldest and most successful Marvel comic created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon.

The movie, started  in a scene dated to the World War II period around 1940. The main character, Steve Rogers played by "Chris Evans", a skinny young man who was deemed unfit for the military after so many tries due to  his health condition. But his effort to serve his country does not ends in vain. Lucky for this young man, he was invited by a scientist Dr.Erksine to be one of the test subject on project "Rebirth" (a project used to create Super Soldier). After the entering the chamber, Steve came out looking very different. His skinny topless body was packed with lean muscles that will make all the ladies going gaga. I believe this is one of the scene that everyone would not want to miss. The transformation is amazing. The experiment not only gives him a nice body, but also enhance physical fitness making him the perfect super soldier.

The story follows the assassination of of Dr Erksin and the destruction of his lab by Red Skull, Johann Schmidt an Agent of the Nazi group "HYDRA", hence making Steve the one and only Super Soldier.

Due to Steve's Courage and patriotic to the country, he became the used of Propaganda to recruit more soldier and giving hope to the others. 

This is where all the actions comes in, you will definitely see a lot of "Pow!" and some "Bang! Bang!" and the classic tossed shied flying here and there during Steve's adventure as Captain America.

This is a movie not to be missed by fans and those who have no idea who the heck is Captain America. The action and technology mixed with a piece of history will indeed capture your attention and the refreshed outfit of Captain America does fits into the taste of our new generation. This Movie will indeed lead to an opening to the AVENGERS! later next year. 

Captain America Opens in Cinema this week. Do make an early booking to the movie to avoid disappointment. :) 

I will rate this Movie a 8/10.

Can you feel and want the BEATS??

Today we will be reviewing and giving a brief introduction on the Dr Dre's Beats Tour Replica:

In today’s pop cultured-fied society, Monster™ products have risen in popularity among youths and young adults alike. Perhaps it could be that many music artists and producers use them, such as LMFAO and DJ Nicole.Chen, just to name a few.

Monster™ produces both headphones and earpieces, but one of their more popular products would be the ‘beats’ series of earpieces, such as the Bieberbeats, the ‘beats’ tour, and the Gagabeats, et cetera. Today, we are going to focus on the ‘beats’ tour series of earpieces.

The popularity of these 'beats' earpieces are probably because of the fact that they are used by these celebrities. Perhaps these youths want to follow what their idols and pop stars are using and carrying. However, despite it having good sound characteristics, a major flaw would be that it is very expensive.

A princely of $400 would be needed for one to get one’s paws on this baby. In my opinion, that is too pricey for this very earpiece as it’s sound quality does not justify it's exorbitant price.

So, in this case, how else can we get such a great product at an affordable price?

Well, the china replica of these babies are there for folks who are on a tight budget, want a decent earpiece, and yet, look stylish/hip/cool/great at the same time.

This set of replicas we procured from a certain dealer has decent bass, and no echo-fied, roomy sound that some other beats replicas might have.

(On this note, I’d like to advise buyers of these replicas to exercise extreme caution when purchasing them, as certain sets that my friends have purchased did indeed have a roomy sound effect. Possibly because the people making these replicas probably plugged in some old drivers from a subpar earpiece into a ‘beats’ shell, thereby resulting in the lousy quality)

And the sound quality is great, almost comparable to the original beats, with scant difference between the original one that I lent from my friend and mine. Of course, being an in-ear earpiece, this ‘beats’ tour replica is great at blocking out external sound too, at up to 80% of ambient sound.

However, despite me gushing on and on about its great attributes/despite it having many good points, there are, of course, some negative points I would like to caution you buyers about. Being a replica product, it would be obvious that the box would not be completely 100% authentic. The lack of certain accessories also irks me, such as the triple-layered earbuds(earbuds with earlocks?), which is not found in this replica box but yet found in the original product.

Inside the box:

The ‘beats’ tour replicas comes with the earpiece, coiled carefully around a hard plastic container. A few sets of spare earbuds(not similar to those provided by the real Ear piece), a hard carrying case to carry your ‘beats’ tour around with, a set of useless manuals which, I think no one actually bothers to read, and some printed advertisements by ‘monster’

The replicas we managed to obtain has a special micro flat wire (aka “Mee Pok” wire) , similar to the real ‘beats’ tour, which in theory, should help to reduce the chances of the wire tangling up.

Its dome-shaped earbuds actually curve slightly inwards, as you can see in the pictures, to allow the sound emitted to travel directly to the eardrums, allowing the user to experience music with clarity.

The replicas comes in 2 colours, just like the real ‘beats’ tour, “Pure White” and “Red Black”.

Overall, the cheap price of these replica ‘beats’ tours compared to the real $400 ‘beats’ tours makes it a very worthwhile purchase. That is, if you do not mind its negative attributes.
